My first HAUL!! What is a haul you ask? Okay, so basically I went and bought a whole bunch of cosmetics that I am super excited about, then I share my thoughts and product usage with you!!
I went to Sephora, MAC, Trade Secrets and Shoppers Drug Mart and picked up someAMAZING products!!
From left to right: Maybelline "The Falsies" mascara, Loreal "Telescopic" mascara, Makeup Forever Glitter in #4 and #3, Too Faced "Shadow Insurance" glitter glue/primer, Urban Decay "Primer Potion", Makeup Forever "Aqua Shadow", MAC lipstick in "Up the Amp" and OPI Nailpolish in "Malaga Wine"
Let's start with the mascara!
No joke...Maybelline's "The Falsies" mascara in "very black" is literally the best cheap mascara that has ever touched my lashes. My old favorite Loreal's Voluminous, while still a great mascara, has moved to second place. This mascara only costs $6.99 and if you bought it on sale...WOW!! I always curl my lashes with my Shu Uemera eyelash curler (if you don't have one, get one), and when I applied this mascara I was in love. The wand has a little snip in it that makes it flexible and move slightly as it hits the lashes, plus the spooley is curved and gets every lash. There was no clumping at all and my lashes were long, thick and fabulous!!!! Do yourself a favor, get this mascara; its better then ANY high end brand I promise you.
Loreal "Telescopic" in "carbon black" is also a really nice mascara. It is a lengthening formulation and at $10.99 is a really nice cheap mascara reminiscent of Lancome "Definicils". The brush is extremely thin and made of that plasticy material. If you like defined, long lashes this is the mascara for you. I had no clumping and my eyelashes looked long and elegant.
Glitter is not for the faint of heart, but for a night out adds some glitz and glamour to any eye look
I needed some glitter to add to my kit so I picked up Makeup Forever glitter in #3 and #4 from Sephora for $20.00 a piece. The glitter is superfine and easy to apply but you should definitely use a glitter glue so it sticks or else it will just fall off. I bought Too Faced "shadow insurance glitter glue" from Sephora for $24. The glitter glue is great because it will not effect the eyeshadow you have applied.
The #3 glitter is a nice clear glitter that has gold/multicoloured sparkles. This would look pretty over a warm toned eyeshadow. The #4 glitter in my opinion is the prettier more exciting product. It is a clear glitter with beautiful violet sparkles. I actually used this on a client recently and the result was STUNNING. This is the #4 glitter over MAC satellite dreams eyeshadow. I actually used quite a few of my HAUL products on her (primed her entire eye area with UD Primer Potion, then applied Makeup Forever "Aqua Shadow" in black on her entire lid; that helped the purple POP). I used the Too faced glue in the inner corner applied with a Sigma small concealer brush then dipped the same brush in the #4 glitter and packed it onto the area I used the glue.
Now on to the eye primer and Makeup Forever "Aqua shadow"...
Urban Decay "Primer Potion" is a must have. I've reviewed this product before. Go and get it! I love Makeup Forever's "aqua shadow". I bought this in black and it sells for $24 at Sephora. I apply this under eyeshadow with a concealer brush and it makes the colour look truer and more punchy, plus its waterproof so that shadow is going NOWHERE!!
A great alternative to red or pink lipstick! PURPLE!!!
MAC amplified lipstick in "up the amp" is such a beautiful colour for fall. It is just the right shade of purple, not too pink or mauve...it is just beautiful. If you are bored with bright pinks or reds go with this one...it is stunning! The finish is almost matte slightly satin and it feels nice on the lips and lasts pretty well. MAC lipsticks sell for $18.50
Here is a swatch, it pulled slightly pinkier with the flash
Last but not least the colour of the season "OXBLOOD" OPI's "Malaga Wine"
This is deep, dark and hugely trendy red. This is a true "oxblood" nail colour and a must for the season! OPI's Malaga Wine sells for around $10 at Trade Secrets but you can get it online at nailpolish.com for $8.95!!
